CoMile is designed to keep your mileage history under your control.
Location and trip data
When automatic tracking is enabled and you grant location permissions, CoMile uses location in the background to detect drives and record trip routes. Trip dates, route coordinates, distance, duration, speed statistics, and trip classifications are stored in the app's local database. Location is used for mileage tracking and is not intentionally sent to CoMile servers or included in analytics events.
Google Analytics and Crashlytics
Android builds connected to CoMile's Firebase project use Google Analytics for app usage events and Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability diagnostics. These services may process app-instance identifiers, device/app information, event details, and crash logs under Google's terms. CoMile does not intentionally include precise location, route coordinates, trip names, or financial values in these events. Firebase is initialized only when the app's Firebase configuration is installed in the build.
Optional Google Drive backup
If you connect Google Drive and enable backup, CoMile stores a backup in the restricted Drive AppData folder for this app. It contains your saved trips and route details, speed statistics, trip classifications, vehicle profiles, and preferences. Backups are sent directly to Google Drive using Google's Drive service; CoMile does not operate a backup server. You can disconnect Drive in Settings; this stops scheduled backups but does not delete the existing Drive file. Delete it from the app by using your CoMile backup controls or remove the app's Drive access in your Google Account.
Retention and contact
Local trip data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. The optional Drive backup remains in your Google account until you delete it. To ask a privacy question, email CoMile@compilerz.net.
